We are currently looking for a motivated and passionate Director of Sales - Events/Weddings to drive sales for our event venues by creating lasting and meaningful moments for couples and families celebrating their special occasions as well as corporations commemorating important milestones.

The Director of Sales will develop, direct, administer, coordinate, and oversee the design, enhancement, implementation, reporting, and oversight of the Company’s internal sales operational activities and compliance in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by senior management. The Director of Sales will take a leadership role in building, implementing, and overseeing company sales goals, systems, processes, workflows, and procedures in an effort to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly financial goals.

The Director of Sales will also play a critical role in helping to shape and guide the future growth and development of the organization.

The Director of Sales position requires a multi-tasking, self-starting individual who will be responsible for driving aggressive sales by meeting with clients and contracting events and increasing revenues with primary focus on weddings, rehearsal dinners, on-site lodging, food and beverage sales, etc. Responsibilities include the implementation of various strategies and action plans to actively and aggressively solicit sales for each property. This will include prospecting from various leads sources, timely follow-up, preparing estimates and proposals, contract negotiations, and involvement in local and regional wedding fairs. Responsibilities also include conducting periodic market research to provide information essential for revising current wedding collateral and packages, which will enhance the Leal portfolio’s competitiveness in the marketplace. This position is responsible for leading the sales efforts in achieving or exceeding personal and property-wide annual revenue goals while maintaining the highest level of service and guest satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions: *

  • Directly manage a team of Sales Managers in the organization and provide strategic direction on how they can reach/exceed their individual goals, both short-term and long-term Carries out all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws as outlined in the organizational guidelines. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide a positive and creative team environment within the department.
  • Actively build/generate new leads to increase size of potential client database from cold calls and market prospecting to include, but not limited to: conventions, corporations, DMCs, tour operators, meeting planners, associations, SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious and Fraternal) groups, concierges, hotels, organizations (i.e. Chamber of Commerce, Convention Center, Convention & Visitors Bureau, etc.) etc. Attend local and regional wedding and event shows to generate potential sales
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, plans and projects for increasing revenue Communicates and distributes the contract details for upcoming events to the appropriate departments through all relevant means, including leading the weekly BEO meetings. Execute weekly sales team meetings to keep staff informed, assess/set goals and create strategies for new business development
  • Manage sales through Salesforce and QuickBooks platforms
  • Assist with managing marketing strategy to help drive brand exposure and increase revenue Effectively contract events, including but not limited to weddings, rehearsal dinners, social events, school events, corporate events, holiday parties, fundraisers, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, etc. at a level to meet or exceed annual revenue goals
  • Conduct property tours prospective clients and generate contracts and invoices as needed
  • Maintain effective, organized, and timely follow up on leads, proposals, and contracts.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of potential and secured accounts, bookings, client requests, and specifications in Sales & Catering Management system Oversee the planning and coordination of details of booked business; create and distribute client BEO’s.
  • Work closely with all relevant departments in the planning process of each event providing specific details on the pre-contracting phase, estimates given, ceremony, reception, and vendors requested for the wedding.
  • Expand and develop sales platforms
  • Assist with tracking the productivity of the marketing plans and projects
  • Monitor, review and report on all sales efforts, activity, and results to management on a regular basis

Will require travel to various properties within in the portfolio including San Benito County and Morgan Hill. This position is not remote.
